- "balloon" wrench or socket wrench by 17 mm (by 19 mm for early production cars);
- jack;
- wheel chocks;
- jack support (if the car is on loose ground).
Sequence of execution
1. Place the car, if possible, on a flat horizontal surface. If there are passengers in the car, they should be disembarked.
2. Remove the spare wheel and the necessary tools from the luggage compartment.
3. We fix the car with the parking brake and install wheel chocks on both sides under the wheel located diagonally from the one being replaced.
4. Using a "balloon" or socket wrench, loosen all wheel mounting bolts by approximately half a turn.
Warning! If the vehicle is parked on loose ground, place a support under the jack to increase the stability of the jack (for example, a board of the appropriate size).
5. Place a jack under the threshold of the car. The lower support platform of the jack should be located strictly under the upper stop.
6. Smoothly lift the car, simultaneously checking that it does not move forward or backward. We lift until the car wheel being replaced is 2-3 cm from the supporting surface.
7. Finally, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the wheel.
8. Install the spare wheel on the hub. Holding the wheel, first tighten the bolts that secure it.
9. Holding the wheel from turning, tighten the mounting bolts crosswise.
10. Smoothly lower the car until the wheel touches the supporting surface. Then completely lower the car onto the wheels and fold the jack.
11. Finally tighten the wheel mounting bolts using the same procedure to a torque of 65.2-92.6 N·m.
12. Place the removed wheel in the luggage compartment and secure it securely.
13. Remove the wheel chocks.
14. Check the tire pressure and, if necessary, bring it up to normal.
