Note: It is more convenient to check the sensor with an assistant.
Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Turn on the ignition.
3. Pressing from above, we sink the sensor float rod. At the same time, the warning lamp for insufficient brake fluid level should light up on the instrument panel.
Recommendation: If the control lamp does not light up, then the terminals in the block itself may have oxidized, the sensor is faulty, or the brake fluid level indicator lamp is faulty. To make sure that the test lamp is working, it is enough to close the terminals of the connecting block. The control lamp should light up. A defective control lamp must be replaced (see "Instrument panel - lamp replacement"). If the control lamp lights up when the terminals of the block are shorted, then the sensor is faulty and must be replaced.
Removing
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness block from the sensor.
3. Turn off the reservoir cap of the main brake cylinder. Removing the sensor float from the tank, remove the sensor.
The defective sensor is replaced as an assembly.
Installation
Install the sensor in reverse order.
