Note. It is more convenient to check the brake fluid level sensor with an assistant.
Examination
1. We prepare the car for repair work.
2. Briefly turn the key in the ignition and turn on the starter to make sure that the low brake fluid level warning light is working. To further check the sensor, leave the ignition on.
Note. If the low brake fluid warning light is OK, it should be on when the starter is turned on. A defective lamp must be replaced and only then continue the test.
3. Pressing from above, we sink the sensor float rod. At the same time, the warning lamp for insufficient brake fluid level should light up on the instrument panel.
Note. If the control lamp does not light up, then the terminals in the connector itself may have oxidized, a break in the wire, or the sensor is faulty. To verify the integrity of the wires, it is enough to close the terminals of the connector. The control lamp should light up. A defective brake fluid level sensor must be replaced.
Removing
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.
3. Turn off the reservoir cap of the main brake cylinder.
Removing the float of the brake fluid level sensor from the master brake cylinder reservoir, remove the sensor. We replace the defective brake fluid level sensor as an assembly.
Installation
We install the sensor and all removed parts on the car in reverse order.
