The key in the ignition lock can occupy the following positions:
0 ("turned off") - the following electrical consumers are in operation: outdoor lighting, front fog lamps, high beam alarm, emergency alarm, cigarette lighter. When the key is removed, the steering shaft is blocked (to lock it, you must turn the steering wheel until the locking rod engages) To unlock the steering shaft, insert the key into the ignition lock and, slightly turning the steering wheel to the right and left, move the key to the position I.
Attention! Do not turn off the engine or remove the key from the ignition while the vehicle is moving, as this will lock the steering wheel and cause loss of control.
I ("ignition") - the electrical circuits of all consumers are switched on, except for the starter. The key is not removed.
Warning! When the engine is not running, do not leave the key in position I for a long time: this may lead to a discharge of the battery.
Recommendation: Before starting the engine (by turning the key to position II) pause for a few seconds (especially after a long stop): this will allow the electric fuel pump to create the necessary pressure in the fuel rail and make it easier to start the engine.
II ("starter") - designed to start the engine. After starting the engine, release the key - it will automatically return to the position I.
Switch (lock) ignition has a lock that does not allow you to turn on the starter when the engine is running. To restart the engine after an unsuccessful attempt, the key in the switch must first be turned to position 0, and then try again. The car is equipped with an electronic anti-theft system - immobilizer. When one of the doors is opened or the ignition is turned on for a short time, the immobilizer switches to the mode for 30 seconds "ready to read the code". At the same time, the light indicator of the signaling sensor starts flashing at a double frequency.
During these 30 seconds, it is necessary to bring the working code key to the signaling sensor at a distance of no more than 13 mm. After reading the code, the indicator light will light up for 2 seconds and go out. Then the engine can be started.
