The key in the ignition switch can be in the following positions:
0 ("off") - the following electrical consumers operate: exterior lighting, front fog lights, high beam headlight signaling, hazard warning lights, cigarette lighter. When the key is removed, the steering shaft is locked (to lock it, you need to turn the steering wheel until the locking rod is triggered) To unlock the steering shaft, insert the key into the ignition switch and, slightly turning the steering wheel to the right and left, move the key to the position I.
Warning! When the vehicle is moving, do not turn off the engine or remove the key from the ignition, as this will lock the steering wheel and cause loss of control.
I ("ignition") - electrical circuits of all consumers except the starter are switched on. The key cannot be removed.
Warning! When the engine is not running, do not leave the key in position I for a long time: this may discharge the battery.
Recommendation: Before starting the engine (by turning the key to position II) pause for a few seconds (especially after a long period of parking): this will allow the electric fuel pump to create the necessary pressure in the fuel rail and make it easier to start the engine.
II ("starter") - is designed to start the engine. After starting the engine, release the key - it will automatically return to the position I.
The ignition switch (lock) has a lock that does not allow the starter to be turned on when the engine is running. To restart the engine after an unsuccessful attempt, the key in the switch must first be turned to position 0, and then try again. The car is equipped with an electronic anti-theft system - an immobilizer. When one of the doors is opened or the ignition is briefly turned on, the immobilizer switches to the "ready to read code" mode for 30 seconds. In this case, the light indicator of the sensor-signaling device begins to flash at double the frequency.

During these 30 seconds, it is necessary to bring the working code key to the sensor-signaler at a distance of no more than 13 mm. After reading the code, the light indicator will light for 2 seconds and go out. Then the engine can be started.
