Recommendation: The throttle cable should be replaced if it is stuck in the housing or damaged.
Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the air supply hose to the throttle valve (see above, "Throttle valve - drive adjustment").
Note: The hose will get in the way, especially when installing a new cable.
3. Using a slotted screwdriver, pry up the locking spring and remove it from the sector.
4. Remove the plastic sleeve from the end of the cable sheath and use a key by 13 mm unscrew the adjusting nut (indicated by the arrow).

5. Pull the cable sheath out of the bracket hole and lead the cable out through the slot in the bracket.
6. Remove the cable tip from the throttle assembly sector.
7. Pull the cable with the sheath through the plastic clamps fastening to the fan casing and the cooling system hose or cut the clamps with nippers (a new clamp will be required during installation).
8. Using a screwdriver, pry the end of the throttle cable from the gas pedal lever under the instrument panel.
9. Pull the end of the cable out of the passenger compartment through the hole in the engine compartment bulkhead and remove the cable.
Installation
Install the throttle drive cable in the reverse order. After installing the cable, adjust the throttle drive and install the air supply hose (see "Throttle valve - drive adjustment").
