Tip: The throttle assembly can be removed without draining the coolant. This will require two M12 bolts of any length.
Warning! Work should only be started after the engine has cooled to a safe temperature (not higher than 45°C).
Removal
1. Prepare the car for repairs (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair"). WITH engine 11183 (1.6i) remove the decorative trim (see "Decorative engine trim 11183 (1.6i) - removal and installation").
2. By unscrewing the expansion tank cap, we release excess pressure from the engine cooling system.
3. Remove the air supply hose to the throttle valve (see "Throttle valve - drive adjustment").
4. Disconnect the throttle cable from the sector (see "Throttle - Drive Cable Replacement")
5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the throttle position sensor (see "Throttle Position Sensor - Checking and Replacing").
6. Disconnect the wiring harness from the idle speed control valve (see "Idle speed control valve - checking and replacing").
7. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the clamps securing the two coolant supply hoses (1), the crankcase ventilation hose (2), and the adsorber hose (3).

8. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose and the adsorber hose from the throttle assembly.
9. With a socket wrench by 13 mm we unscrew the two nuts securing the throttle assembly to the receiver flange.

10. Remove the throttle assembly from the studs and lift it as much as the length of the hoses allows.
11. Holding the throttle assembly in a raised position, disconnect one of the coolant supply hoses to the throttle body.

12. We plug the hose with an M12 bolt.

13. Similarly, disconnect the remaining hose from the throttle body.
Recommendation: To prevent the bolts from falling out, tighten the hose clamps.
14. On engine 11183 (1.6i) we remove the sealing rubber ring from the groove of the receiver flange. We replace the damaged ring.

On engine 2111 (1.5i) we remove the sealing gasket from the receiver studs. We replace the damaged gasket.

Installation
We install the throttle assembly in the reverse order.
