Disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
The work can be performed without removing the generator from the vehicle.
1. Disconnect the wire tip from the brush holder.
2. Unscrew the two screws securing the voltage regulator to the brush holder.
3. Remove the voltage regulator assembly with the brush holder. Install the voltage regulator in the reverse order of removal. Check the operation of the voltage regulator (see subsection 8.2.4.).
