Disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
Remove the alternator drive belt.
For ease of work, remove the radiator trim (see subsection 9.4.).
Generator technical characteristics

- The gear ratio from the engine crankshaft to the generator is 1:2.04
The book describes the generator 37.3701. Some cars are equipped with the generator 371.3701. They are interchangeable in installation dimensions and characteristics, but differ slightly in design.

1. Disconnect the wiring harness from the generator terminal.

2. Slide the protective cover...

3....unscrew the fastening nut and remove the wire ends from the generator terminal.

4. Unscrew the nut securing the generator to the bracket.

5. Remove spring washer 1, flat washer 2 and buffer sleeve 3 from the bolt.

6. Loosen the nut securing the tension bar to the cylinder block.

7. Remove the flat washer from the stud...

8....ring and...

9....tension bar.

10. While holding the generator, remove the bolt from its lower mount.

11. Remove the generator.

12. Install the generator in the reverse order of removal. When replacing, remove the buffer bushing from the old generator and install it on the new one. After installing the generator drive belt, adjust its tension.
