Checking the technical condition of the rear suspension (VAZ-2101)

The elastic characteristics of the springs are checked using the data below, after having first compressed them three times until the coils touch:

Length of free spring, mm — 434 and 455*

Spring length under load 295±13 and (325±13)* kgf, mm:

• group A (yellow marking), no more than - 273
• group A (light brown markings)* — more than 278
• group B (green marking), no more than - 273
• group B (blue marking)* no more than - 278

* For rear suspension springs of VAZ-2102 vehicle.

Check for spring deformation. If the spring elasticity is not within the norm or it is deformed, it is replaced.

Inspect the rubber support pads and replace if necessary.

The condition of the rods and their elastic hinges is checked. If the rods are deformed, they are adjusted, and if impossible, they are replaced. If it is necessary to replace the hinges, use the set of devices 67.7820.9517.
