Headlight cleaner (VAZ-2105)

Some vehicles may be equipped with headlight washers together with an electric pump and headlight washer tubes. The headlight washers connection diagram is shown in Fig. 249. They are switched on by the right lever of the three-lever switch 5 simultaneously with the windshield wiper. However, switching on the headlight washers is only possible when voltage is supplied to terminal "86" of relay P2 from fuses No.12 and 16, i.e. when the low or high beam headlights are on (see fig. 241). At the same time as the headlight washers, the electric motor 2 of the headlight washer pump is also switched on. Relay P2 is installed type 112.3747.



The headlight washer electric motor and the gearbox are located in one housing, forming an electric drive assembly. The electric drive has a reusable thermal bimetallic fuse to protect the electric motor from overloads. The design of the wiper electric drive is non-separable, and in case of failure it is replaced with a new one. Basic data for checking the wiper electric drive (at 12 V and 25°C):

• The number of double shaft strokes per minute at a torque of 0.1 kgf·m is 50±5
• Current consumption at a torque of 0.1 kgf·m, A, no more than — 1.5
