Features of the windshield wiper device (VAZ-2105)

The wiper connection diagram (Fig. 247) is the same for VAZ-2105 and VAZ-2104 vehicles. Depending on the position of switch lever 5, two wiper operation modes are possible: continuous and intermittent, which is provided by relay-interrupter 6 of the RS-514 type. Switch lever 5 (if you pull it towards you) the windshield washer motor 1 is also switched on.



The cleaner consists of an electric drive (electric motor with gearbox) type ME-241 and lever system. Electric motor of the electric drive with excitation from permanent magnets, two-brush. To protect the electric motor from overloads or freezing of brushes to the glass or high resistance to their movement, since 1985 a thermobimetallic fuse of multiple action has been installed in the wiper.

Basic data for checking the electric drive:

• Electric drive shaft rotation speed* at a load torque of 0.1 kgf·m, min⁻¹ — 50
• Current consumption* at a torque of 0.1 kgf·m, A, no more than — 2.8
• Starting torque on the electric drive shaft*, kgf·m, not less than — 1.2
