The 6ST-55P battery consists of six 2 V cells connected in series. Each cell is housed in a separate compartment and consists of positive and negative plates separated by separators. The battery case and cover are made of polypropylene. The cover is welded to the case and forms a non-separable monoblock together with it.
The nominal capacity of the battery at a 20-hour discharge mode with a current of 2.75 A and an electrolyte temperature of 25°C at the beginning of the discharge is 55 Ah. The discharge current at the starter mode and an electrolyte temperature of minus 18°C reaches 255 A.
Possible battery malfunctions, their causes and solutions are listed below.
