Battery design (VAZ-2101)

The 6ST-55 battery consists of six 2 V cells connected in series. Each cell is placed in a separate compartment and consists of positive and negative plates separated by separators. Each compartment is closed with a lid with openings along the edges for the passage of pole terminals and with a central threaded opening for filling the electrolyte and monitoring its level. The central opening is closed with a plug with openings through which gases formed in the battery exit.

The battery elements are connected to each other by bridges. The compartment covers and connecting bridges are filled with mastic, which seals the battery compartments well and protects the connecting bridges.
