Warning. Before replacing the fuse in the mounting block, it is necessary to determine and eliminate the cause of its blown out. In order to avoid failure of electrical equipment elements, fuses with an increased rating or home-made fuses should not be installed.
Work sequence
1. We prepare the car for repair work.
2. Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative battery terminal.
3. By pressing the button located under the headlight hydraulic corrector control handle, open the cover of the mounting block.
4. By the serial number on the body of the mounting block, we find the fuse of the faulty circuit.
A bad fuse can be identified by a blown filament.
Recommendation. Sometimes the thread of the fuse remains intact, while its connection inside the fuse is broken. It is impossible to visually determine such a malfunction. In this case, you can evaluate the condition of the fuse using an ohmmeter.
5. The fuse and relay mounting block contains tweezers to remove fuses from their sockets. We squeeze the fuse case with tweezers, and remove the fuse from the mounting block.
6. Install a new fuse of the appropriate rating.
7. If it is necessary to replace the relay, remove it with your fingers (or, if the relay sits tightly, then you can use pliers).
Helpful advice. You can verify that the relay is malfunctioning by installing another one that is known to be good in its place. Relays for headlights, rear window heating, power windows, starter are interchangeable.
8. We install a new relay of the same type in the mounting block. At the same time, we combine its conclusions with the grooves of the mounting block and sink them all the way.
9. Close the cover of the mounting block and connect the battery.
