Thermostat device (VAZ-2105)

All the engines described are equipped with a 2101 engine thermostat. The thermostat consists of a housing and a cover, which are rolled together with the seat 8 of the main valve 9 (Fig. 29), pressed by a spring 7. The thermostat has three branches: an inlet 13 for the cooled liquid from the radiator, an inlet 1 for the hot liquid from the engine cooling jacket, and an outlet 6 for feeding liquid to the pump. The main valve 9 is pressed onto a cup 4, in which a rubber insert 5 is rolled. The rubber insert contains a polished steel piston 12, installed in a nut 11 of a fixed holder 10. Between the walls of the cup and the rubber insert there is a solid heat-sensitive filler 14. Two posts 15 are fixed to the main valve, on which a bypass valve 2 is installed, pressed by a spring 3.
