It should be noted that the plant is constantly improving the fuel equipment and as the cars are produced, these data may change. Therefore, in each specific case, it is necessary to use the instructions attached to the car, as well as consult with specialists from AvtoVAZ service stations.
VAZ engine carburetors are equipped with a semi-automatic starting device with an air damper installed in the primary chamber, a diaphragm accelerator pump, a spool device for the crankcase ventilation system, heating of the idle system channels in the throttle body from the engine cooling system, an unloading valve (cars VAZ-2101, 2102) and shut-off solenoid valve (car VAZ-2103) idle system of the primary chamber.
All produced cars «Zhiguli» exhaust emissions (with undisturbed adjustment of power supply and ignition systems) comply with applicable international standards.

The carburetor consists of three body parts: body 5, cover 15 and body 2 throttle valves. In the cover 15 there are inlet mouths of the primary and secondary chambers, a well 17 for supplying air to the air jets 51 of the main metering systems and a channel connecting the cavity of the float chamber with the cavity behind the air filter element.
The air filter housing is installed on four studs screwed into the cover 15. In the inlet neck of the primary chamber, an air damper 19 of the starting device is installed. In the cover 15, a needle shut-off valve 54 for the fuel supply, a float 57, a filter element 55, a branch pipe 14 for supplying fuel to the float chamber, and a discharge valve seat 52 are installed (on carburetors of cars of the latest production VAZ-2103, marked 2103-1107010-01, the channel is not performed, and the valve with rod 7 and drive lever 55 is not installed), as well as the channels of the enrichment device (econostat) with emulsion 48, air 49 and fuel 50 jets pressed into the cover (there is no ecostat on carburetors 2103-1107010-01). To the cover 15 is attached the housing 23 of the starting device with the cover 24 and the diaphragm 45 as an assembly. The carburetor cover is attached to the body with five screws and sealed with a cardboard gasket.
Due to the fact that the float is fixed on the cover of the carburetor body, when it is removed to regulate the fuel level, it is removed from the cavity of the float chamber, while the fuel level changes (in relation to the level on the assembled carburetor). Since direct measurement of the fuel level in the float chamber in mass production turns out to be non-technological, this parameter is not used in the manufacture of carburetors for VAZ engines.
The correctness of the fuel level setting in operation is determined by the size of the gap between the float and the mating plane of the cover with the installed gasket, while the cover must be installed vertically with the fuel supply pipe 14 up, and the float tongue must touch the needle valve ball without sinking it. From the conditions of such regulation, the gasket can be separated from the cover only after removing the float, which must be borne in mind when dismantling the carburetor body cover and carefully separate the gasket from the body. A similar control system is also adopted on Weber and Solex carburetors.
The scheme for regulating the fuel level in the float chamber is shown on sheet 15. Gap C is set by bending tongue 3; the position of the float at the end of its stroke, determined by the size E, the same for all carburetors, is set by bending the tongue A.
Large diffusers 6 are cast in housing 5, small easily removable diffusers 16 are installed, cast integrally with sprayers 9 and 10 of the main and enrichment systems, channels of the main dosing system, idle system, transition system, accelerating pump, channel 66 are made, communicating the working cavity of the diaphragm 45 starting device with throttle space. The body 5 also has a spray nozzle 18 with a pressure valve 47 of the accelerator pump, air jets 51 and emulsion tubes 53 of the main metering systems, a body 42 of the fuel jet of the idle system of the primary chamber.
On VAZ-2103 carburetor vehicles, a solenoid valve is installed to cut off the fuel supply through the idle system, which locks the fuel channel of the idle system when the ignition is turned off, which prevents the possibility of spontaneous engine operation after it is turned off - «glow ignition».
To the tide of the carburetor body, which forms the working cavity of the accelerator pump, the cover 65 of the accelerator pump with the drive lever 62 assembly and the working diaphragm 64 of the pump are attached to four screws. The lever 27 for controlling the starting device is also attached to the body.
In the housing 5, the housing 11 of the fuel jet of the transition system of the secondary carburetor chamber is installed, the intake pipe 29 of the crankcase ventilation spool system is pressed in. A spring-loaded adjusting screw 30 for limiting the opening of the throttle of the primary chamber is installed in the tide of the housing.
In case 2, throttle valves of 28 primary and 1 secondary chambers of the carburetor are installed. On the axis of the throttle valve of the primary chamber are installed: lever 35 for controlling throttle valves from the pedal; lever 37 for controlling the throttle valve of the secondary chamber; lever 34, which controls the throttle valve of the primary chamber with the help of a rod 38, connecting it with the lever 27 of the control of the starting device; control lever 36 with a stop under the idle speed control screw and stop 32, which determines the beginning of the opening of the throttle valve of the secondary chamber (opening starts after the stop 32 comes into contact with the end surface of the lever 37), and cam 61 of the accelerator pump drive. Under lever 36 in the throttle body, a spring and a spool of the crankcase ventilation system are installed, access to which opens after unscrewing the nut and removing all levers.
On the axis of the throttle valve 1, a lever 39 for controlling the throttle valve of the secondary chamber and a lever 56 for driving the unloading valve of the float chamber are installed.
Branch pipes 33 of liquid heating of the channels of the idle system are pressed into the housing 2, a spring-loaded adjusting screw 67 of the composition of the mixture of the idle system and a stop screw 40 of closing the throttle valve 1 of the secondary chamber are installed (factory adjusted and centered).
The carburetor is mounted on the intake pipe with four studs and secured to it with four nuts. A heat-insulating gasket is installed between the carburetor and the intake pipe.
