Ignition system — general information (VAZ-21051)

The electrical diagram of the ignition system is shown in (see subsection 12.13).

Since 1987, some vehicles have been equipped with a contactless ignition system (see subsection 12.12). In this system, the power supply circuit of the primary winding of the ignition coil is interrupted by the electronic switch 5. Control pulses are supplied to the switch from a contactless sensor located in the ignition distributor sensor.

Since 1986, an additional ignition relay 7 is installed (see subsection 12.13) type 113.3747-10.

On VAZ-21053 cars, the ignition distributor 30.3706 is installed (38.3706 in contactless ignition system) with increased roller length.
