Interior upholstery — design description (VAZ-2108)

To reduce weight, heat and noise insulation, the roof lining is made of polyurethane foam of the "Bainat" type, integrally molded with fiberglass on both sides. On the interior side, the lining is additionally covered with a PVC film with polyurethane foam duplication. A plastic overlay is attached to the lining along the rear edge. The roof lining is fastened in front with sun visors using self-tapping screws, on the sides with handrails, in the center with a lamp and at the back with four buttons.

The body pillar trim is made of black ABS plastic with a thickness of 2 mm. The windshield pillar trim is attached with three self-tapping screws, the central pillar trim with a hook and a button. The rear pillar trim is attached with two screws and a seat belt mount.

The side panel trim is made of two halves to facilitate installation and removal and is attached, like the door trim, in the openings of the inner side panel using plastic holders secured inside the trim.

The floors of the passenger compartment and luggage compartment are covered with black carpets, molded from non-woven material with a polyethylene base. In the door openings, the carpet is pressed by threshold trims made of polypropylene. Each threshold trim is fastened with six self-tapping screws. For thermal and noise insulation, textile-bitumen pads are installed on the floor under the carpets.

The rear shelf is made foldable from two halves. The shelf can be removed and secured in the rear part of the luggage compartment.
