Features of the battery device (VAZ-2108)

The 6ST-55A battery consists of six 2 V cells connected in series. They are housed in a common translucent polypropylene case, divided by partitions into six sections. The case cover is also made of polypropylene and welded to the case, forming together with it a non-separable monoblock.

The battery plate grids are cast from a lead alloy with a low antimony content. This allowed to reduce the battery self-discharge during operation and slow down the process of water evaporation from the electrolyte. As a result, the vehicle mileage between regular battery maintenance increased. Brief technical characteristics of the battery:

• Nominal capacity at 20-hour discharge mode and electrolyte temperature of 25°C at the beginning of discharge, A-h — 55
• Discharge current at 20-hour discharge mode, A — 2.75
• The same in starter mode and electrolyte temperature minus 18°C, A — 255
