Helpful Hint: The bonnet gas struts should be replaced one at a time. If the struts are so weak that they are no longer able to hold the bonnet, place a strut under the bonnet.
Removal
1. Prepare the car for repair work.
2. Open the hood and use a 13 mm open-end wrench to loosen the ball joints of the lower and upper gas strut mounts (do not lose the lock washers on the pins).
3. Remove the gas strut.
Installation
We install the gas strut and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order.
Similarly, we replace the gas strut on the right side of the hood.
