To perform repair work on replacing the brake caliper cylinder, you will need a Torx T-16 socket wrench.
Removal
1. Remove the brake caliper from the car (see "Front brake caliper - removal, installation, replacement").
2. Fasten the brake caliper in the vise and unscrew the bolts of the guide pins (see p. 6-8 "Front brake pads - replacement").
3. Using a Torx T-16 socket wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the movable bracket to the brake cylinder body of the caliper.
4. Remove the brake cylinder from the caliper.
Installation
1. Install a new brake caliper cylinder and all removed parts on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
2. After installing the caliper, remove air from the hydraulic drive of the brake system (see "Bleeding brakes (brake system), brake fluid replacement").
3. Make sure that there is no brake fluid leakage from the new brake cylinder, the bleed nipple, or the connection between the cylinder and the brake hose.
