Notes:
- Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and place chocks under the rear wheels. Raise and support the front of the vehicle. Remove the wheel.
- Wash and dry the brake mechanism.
- If you are going to change the piston or o-ring, then for convenience, disconnect the wheel cylinder from the caliper.
Attention! If there are nicks, signs of wear and corrosion on the working surfaces of the piston and cylinder, they must be replaced.
Attention! The guide pins must be free of corrosion and damage. They must move freely in the holes in the base. Otherwise, replace the pins, as well as torn or loose protective covers of the guide pins.
1. Unscrew the fastening nut and disconnect the brake hose from the fitting of the wheel cylinder. Plug the hose opening./
2. Use a screwdriver to bend the antennae of the lock washers of the two bolts of the guide pins.
3. Loosen the lower guide pin mounting bolt while holding it with a hexagon wrench.
4. Lift the caliper up and unscrew the upper mounting bolt in the same way.
5. Remove the caliper with wheel cylinder from the base.
6. Clamp the caliper in a vise and unscrew the two hex bolts securing the cylinder to the caliper.
7. Remove the wheel cylinder from the caliper.
8. Carefully, so as not to tear the protective cover, remove the retaining ring.
9. Remove the protective cover.
10. Applying compressed air through the brake hose fitting...
11.... remove the piston from the cylinder.
12. Carefully, so as not to damage the cylinder mirror, remove the sealing ring.
13. Turn the bleed valve out if you need to replace the wheel cylinder or the valve itself.
14. To replace the base of the bracket, unscrew the two bolts of its fastening to the steering knuckle.
15. Assembly and installation of a brake calliper is made upside-down. Before assembly, lubricate the O-ring, piston and cylinder bore with fresh brake fluid with brake fluid.
16. When installing the piston into the cylinder, insert the edge of the protective cap into the groove on the piston.
17. Then insert the piston into the cylinder and insert the outer edge into the groove on the cylinder body. Install retaining ring.
18. Lubricate guide pins with UNIOL-1 grease before installation. Tightening torques for threaded connections see Appendix 3.
