Power steering system (VAZ-2110)

In the variant version, the cars are equipped with a power steering, which significantly reduces the force on the steering wheel. If the power steering does not function (for example, when towing a car with a non-running engine), it is still possible to control the car, but this requires applying significantly more force to the steering wheel.

Warning! Do not allow coasting when the engine is not running! In this case, the power steering system does not work, so you endanger yourself and other road users.

At extreme steering wheel positions, noise may occur due to the operation of the bypass valve. This is not a malfunction. When the steering wheel returns to the middle position, the bypass valve switches off and the noise disappears.
