Precautions when operating a vehicle (VAZ-2110)

            0

Do not exceed the vehicle load specified in the manual. Overloading causes damage to suspension components, premature tire wear, and loss of vehicle stability. The weight of the load with the luggage rack installed on the roof of the LADA 111 vehicle should not exceed 50 kg. Distribute the load evenly and secure it securely.

Avoid driving fast on roads with poor surfaces, as sudden impacts can deform suspension and body components.

Regularly check the condition of the protective rubber boots of the steering rack, ball joints, gear shift rod, front wheel drive joints, and protective caps of the steering rod joints. If the boot or cap is damaged, incorrectly installed or twisted, dust, water and dirt will penetrate into the joint or mechanism, which will cause their increased wear and tear. Therefore, immediately replace a damaged boot or cap with a new one, and correct an incorrectly installed or twisted one.

CAUTION! Use only oils recommended by the manufacturer to lubricate the engine and gearbox (see appendix 1). Use of other oils may result in premature wear or damage to these units.

The car engine is designed to use gasoline with an octane rating not lower than that specified in appendix 1. Operating a car on gasoline with a lower octane number will lead to its failure!

It is not allowed to start the car moving using the starter. Start the car moving only in first gear.

Warning! Exhaust gases are poisonous! Therefore, the room in which the engine is started and warmed up must be well ventilated.

A characteristic feature of the engine is its low noise. To avoid the engine running at high speeds while driving, shift gears in a timely manner. This will extend the life of the engine and reduce fuel consumption.

Remember to check your tire pressure regularly, as using tires with pressures other than recommended will cause premature wear, increased fuel consumption, and reduced stability and control of your vehicle.

The vehicle is equipped with a clutch with no gaps in the drive. Therefore, to avoid clutch slippage, remove your foot from the pedal after changing gears and engaging the clutch. Do not keep your foot on the clutch pedal while driving.

During vehicle operation, natural wear of the friction linings of the driven clutch disc occurs (the pedal stroke increases), therefore, it is possible to change the height position of the clutch pedal. This is a normal operating process, which is monitored and adjusted during scheduled maintenance in accordance with the list of works specified in the service book. Wear of the friction linings of the driven disk of the clutch (and, as a result, the height of the pedal) depends on the riding style. If the pedal stroke exceeds the permissible value (see table 11), additional adjustment is required on certified PSSS.

Always keep the battery terminals and clamps clean and securely connected. Remember that oxidation of terminals and clamps, as well as unreliable connections, cause sparking at the point of unreliable contact, which can lead to failure of the vehicle's electronic equipment. It is also not allowed to check the generator's performance with the engine running by removing the clamps from the battery.

Warning! The vehicle is equipped with a high-energy ignition system. Therefore, touching the ignition system components while the engine is running is dangerous.

In addition, it is not recommended to check high-voltage circuits "for sparks", as this can lead to failure of ignition system components. During vehicle maintenance, the reliability of the connections of high-voltage wires to coils and spark plugs is checked.

Dismantling of high-voltage wires from ignition system devices should be carried out only by the protective cap. Dismantling by the high-voltage wire is not allowed!

To avoid discharging the battery when the engine is not running, do not leave the key in the ignition switch for a long time.

Avoid opening the doors abruptly at the end of their travel. Do not leave the doors open when stopped in strong winds to avoid deformation of the front edges of the doors.

In winter, when a layer of ice or snow on the sliding windows makes it difficult to move them, do not apply excessive force when turning the handle, so as not to damage the window lift mechanism. If your car has electric windows, to prevent them from failing, be sure to clean the door windows from ice and snow.
