ATTENTION! A fuel injected engine with a catalytic converter and an oxygen sensor works properly if only unleaded gasoline is used. Leaded gasoline in a short time puts these elements out of action, smoky exhaust appears, fuel consumption increases sharply and the dynamics of the car worsens.
The catalytic converter is an expensive component that ensures environmental protection. The catalytic converter can also fail in the event of a misfire in the ignition system, because in this case the fuel will ignite in the catalytic converter and the temperature in it will rise sharply, which will cause cracks in the ceramic block. Most electronic engine control units have a function to protect converters from misfiring. At the same time, in one or two cylinders in which gaps are detected, the fuel supply is turned off, and the lamp «Check engine» turns on in flashing mode. When misfiring occurs (Interruptions in the engine and twitching when driving) you need to stop moving, turn off the engine and take measures to eliminate gaps.
To avoid failure of the converter, do not start the engine by towing the car and in no case use the starter to move the car.
Warning! Due to the fact that the converter located under the bottom of the car has a high temperature, when parking the car, make sure that there is no dry grass or other combustible material under the converter (rags, wood shavings, etc.).
ATTENTION! In the variant version, the car is equipped with a downpipe with a catalytic converter, which has a high operating temperature, therefore it is strictly forbidden to place and store flammable materials and objects in the engine compartment (rags, paper, etc.) to prevent possible fire.
On a vehicle with a fuel injection system, the engine management system controller contains the function of turning on the electric fuel pump for 2 seconds when the ignition is turned on. On cars with MP7.0 controllers, after removing and connecting the battery terminal, the electric fuel pump starts working only when the starter is turned on. At subsequent engine starts, the built-in function of turning on the electric fuel pump when the ignition is turned on is restored. However, after successive switching on of the ignition three times without starting the engine, the next switching on of the electric fuel pump will again occur only with the start of the starter.
On a car with an MP7.0 controller without an electronic anti-theft system, after removing and then connecting the battery terminal, before the first start of the engine, it is necessary to pause for 5 seconds after turning on the ignition.
