Comment. The door lock consists of an inner and outer part. In the event of a malfunction of the outer part, it can be replaced without removing the door upholstery (see "The outer part of the front door lock - replacement"). When replacing or repairing the inside of the lock, the door upholstery must be removed.
To perform the work requires a wrench with a replaceable cross tip (see "The outer part of the front door lock - replacement").
Removing
1. Remove the door trim (see "Upholstery of a back door - removal and installation").
2. Remove the outer part of the lock (see "The outer part of the front door lock - replacement").
3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the bracket of the two-arm lever.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the inner handle for opening the door lock.
5. Disconnect from the door body a plastic clamp with an anti-noise foam pad that holds the horizontal locking rod of the lock.
6. We disconnect the wire blocks of the motor-reducer of the electric drive of the central lock.
7. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the gear motor to lock the lock.
8. Using a slotted screwdriver, disconnect the plastic tip of the outer door handle from the lock lever (see "The external handle of a back door - removal and installation").
9. socket wrench by 8 mm unscrew the bolt securing the rear window guide.
10. Remove the rear glass guide from the door.
11. We remove the inside of the lock from the door along with the lock motor-reducer.
12. Before removing the lock retainer, mark its position on the middle pillar of the body (marker or marker).
13. Using a collar with a removable cross tip, unscrew the latch pin (1) and two fixing screws (2). We remove the fixer.
Comment. Adjusting shims can be installed under the latch. When assembling, they must be installed in place.
Installation
Install the door lock in reverse order.
Advice. It is convenient to put plastic tips on the ball pins of the lock levers with sliding pliers
We install the lock latch according to the marks applied to the rack. If the door doesn't close properly (for example, with a metallic knock or having to slam the door hard to close), adjust the lock (see below).
Adjustment
The rear door lock is adjustable in the same way as the front door lock (see "Front door lock - removal, installation and adjustment").
