Note: The door lock consists of an inner and outer part. If the outer part is faulty, it can be replaced without removing the door trim (see "Front Door Lock Outer Part - Replacement"). When replacing or repairing the interior of the lock, the door trim must be removed.
To complete the job, you will need a ratchet with a replaceable cross-head (see "Front Door Lock Outer Part - Replacement").
Removal
1. Remove the door trim (see "Rear door trim - removal and installation").
2. Remove the outer part of the lock (see "Front Door Lock Outer Part - Replacement").
3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the double-arm lever bracket.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the inner door lock opening handle.
5. Disconnect the plastic clamp with the anti-noise foam pad from the door body, holding the horizontal locking rod.
6. Disconnect the wiring blocks of the motor-reducer of the central lock electric drive.
7. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the lock motor-reducer.
8. Using a slotted screwdriver, disconnect the plastic end of the outer door handle rod from the lock lever (see "Rear Door Outside Handle - Removal and Installation").
9. With a socket wrench by 8 mm unscrew the bolt securing the rear glass guide.
10. Remove the rear glass guide from the door.
11. Remove the inner part of the lock from the door together with the lock blocking motor-reducer.
12. Before removing the lock retainer, mark its position on the middle pillar of the body (with a marker or felt-tip pen).
13. Using a wrench with a removable cross-head, unscrew the retainer pin (1) and two retainer mounting screws (2). Remove the retainer.
Note: There may be adjusting shims installed under the retainer. They should be installed in place during assembly.
Installation
We install the door lock in the reverse order.
Advice: It is convenient to put plastic tips on the ball joints of the lock levers using sliding pliers
We install the lock retainer according to the marks applied to the rack. If the door does not close well (for example, with a metallic knock or having to slam the door hard to close it), adjust the lock (see below).
Adjustment
The rear door lock is adjusted in the same way as the front door lock (see "Front door lock - removal, installation and adjustment").
