2. Apply a force of 98 N (10 kgf) to the alternator belt exactly in the middle between the alternator pulley and the engine crankshaft pulley.

Recommendation: A properly adjusted belt should deflect by about 8 mm. If the belt deflection is not correct, adjust the belt tension.
Tip: If it is difficult to estimate the force created by your hand, you can use a household spring balance with a maximum permissible load of 10 kg.

3. With a socket wrench by 13 mm using a ratchet, loosen the nut on the generator lower mounting bolt.

4. In the engine compartment with a spanner by 13 mm loosen the tension bar nut.

5. Rotate with a socket wrench by 10 mm with ratchet adjusting bolt, adjust belt tension (clockwise increases the belt tension, and counterclockwise decreases it).

Warning: Excessive belt tension may cause failure of the alternator front bearing.
6. Check the tension of the generator belt (see above) and repeat the adjustment if necessary.
7. After making sure that the belt is tensioned correctly, use a spanner by 13 mm tighten the tension bar nut.
8. With a socket wrench by 13 mm tighten the nut of the generator lower mounting bolt.
