You will need: a 27 mm socket head, 17 mm and 19 mm wrenches, and mandrels for replacing the wheel bearing.
Helpful Hint: To press in the hub bearing, use the appropriate size mandrels from the kit. If you don't have any mandrels, you can use the rings from the old bearing.
1. Remove the protective cap.
2. Loosen the hub nut.
3. Loosen the wheel mounting bolts and hub nut with the vehicle on the ground. The hub nut is tightened to a high torque, so it is recommended to use a piece of pipe as a lever, for example.
4. Remove the wheel and brake disc (see "Replacing the brake disc").
5. Mark the position of the eccentric bolt relative to the strut, loosen the tightening of the nuts of the bolts securing the steering knuckle to the strut (see "Removal and installation a telescopic stand").
6. Remove the two bolts securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
7. Unscrew the two nuts of the steering knuckle mounting bolts and remove the bolts.
8. Unscrew the hub nut and remove the thrust washer.
9. Remove the steering knuckle from the strut bracket.
10. Using a suitable punch, press the hub out of the inner bearing ring.
11. If the outer part of the inner bearing ring remains on the hub, press it off with a puller. For ease of dismantling, there are two special recesses on the hub.
12. Remove the snap rings from both sides of the steering knuckle.
13. Using a mandrel, press the bearing out of the steering knuckle.
14. Before installing the new bearing, install the outer snap ring.
15. Press the new bearing into the steering knuckle using a vice or a press with a suitable mandrel, applying force only to the outer ring of the bearing. Do not hammer the bearing - it may be destroyed.
16. Install the inner snap ring.
17. Using a mandrel, press the hub into the inner bearing ring.
18. Install the steering knuckle in the reverse order of removal. Use a new hub nut or a nut from another wheel (so that the old, crushed parts a of the nut flange do not fall into the groove b on the tail of the outer hinge when punching).
19. Finally tighten the hub nut in the same way as the wheel mounting bolts, with the car on the ground, and lock it in two places. Install the protective cap.
