2. Press the hub out of the inner race of the bearing with a punch.
The wheel hub has a double-row ball bearing, which does not require adjustment and lubrication during operation. When the hub is pressed out, the bearing is destroyed. Therefore, press the hub out of the steering knuckle only to replace the bearing.
3. If the outer part of the bearing inner race remains on the hub, compress it with a puller. For ease of dismantling, there are special recesses on the hub.
4. Remove the circlips from both sides of the steering knuckle.
5. Using a mandrel, press the bearing out of the steering knuckle.
6. Install the outer circlip after cleaning thoroughly.
7. Press the new bearing into the steering knuckle using a mandrel.
In the absence of mandrels, you can use the rings of the old bearing.
Warnings!
- Press the bearing and hub only with a press or in a vise. It is impossible to hammer the bearing with a hammer - this will lead to its destruction.
- When pressing the bearing, it is necessary to apply force only to its outer ring, otherwise the bearing may be damaged.
8. Install the inner circlip.
9. Use a mandrel to press the hub into the inner ring of the bearing.
When pressing the hub, you need to apply force only to the inner ring of the bearing, otherwise the bearing may be damaged.
10. After replacing the bearing, reinstall the steering knuckle (see subsection 6.1.6.).
