You will need: Motor oil, funnel, clean rag.
Before starting work: Place the vehicle on a horizontal, level surface.
Warnings:
- Check the oil level when the engine is cold. If you need to check the level after driving, wait 5-10 minutes after stopping the engine to allow the oil to drain into the oil pan.
- Fill the engine with oils specified in Appendix 2. Always add the same brand of oil to the crankcase that was previously filled.
- The oil level in the engine crankcase should not exceed the "MAX" mark, otherwise this will lead to increased oil consumption and leaks from the engine through gaskets and seals.
Remove the oil level indicator.
...wipe it clean with a cloth and put it back in place.
Remove the dipstick. The oil film level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks. If the oil level approaches or is below the "MIN" mark, add oil.
Turn the oil filler cap approximately 90° counterclockwise and remove it.
Place a funnel in the filler neck and pour oil into the engine, monitoring the oil level with the dipstick. Wait 2-3 minutes before removing the dipstick to allow the oil to drain into the crankcase.
Once the oil level has reached the required level, close the filler cap by turning it clockwise 90°.
