The bearing journals of the camshaft are not allowed to have any scoring, nicks, scratches or dragging of aluminum from the bearings. The working surfaces of the cams and eccentric are not allowed to have any damage or wear marks in the form of faceting.
The camshaft is installed with its outer journals on two prisms placed on the test plate, and the radial runout of the middle journal is measured with an indicator, which should not exceed 0.02 mm.
Camshaft Bearing Housing
The bearing housing must not have any cracks in any place. There must be no burrs or scratches on the bearing surfaces under the camshaft journals.
Check the clearance between the camshaft journals and the bearing holes. The clearance is determined by calculation after measuring the journals and bearing holes on the cylinder head with the bearing housing installed. The clearance must correspond to the data table 2if the gap is more than 0.2 mm, then replace the cylinder head with the bearing housing.
Toothed belt
The surface of the toothed part should have a clear tooth profile, without folds, cracks, undercuts and delamination of the fabric from the rubber.
