Replacing headlight bulbs (VAZ-2101)

To replace the headlight bulbs, unscrew screw 2 (see fig. 168) fastenings of facing rim 1 and remove it, disengaging it from engagement with bracket 6. Loosen screws 5 fastening rim of optical element of headlight, turn rim counterclockwise and remove it. Then take out optical element of headlight and replace lamp. After replacing lamp, install optical element so that brackets of optical element enter sockets of inner rim of headlight.

To replace the headlight or taillight bulbs, remove the diffusers by unscrewing the screws that secure them either on the outside or inside of the body (depending on the design of the lanterns).

The bulb in the side turn signal is replaced by removing the socket with the bulb from the inside of the wing. For license plate lights, the socket with the bulb is removed or the diffuser is removed to replace the bulb (on cars 2102).

To replace the bulb in the interior light, remove the light from its socket.
