Springs
Basic data for checking the rear suspension spring
1. Check the elastic characteristics of the springs at the control points, having previously compressed them three times until the coils touch.
Attention! The rear suspension springs of VAZ-2101 and VAZ-21011 cars are classified by length under a load of 2989 N (305 kgf): group A - length greater than 273 mm, group B - length less than 273 mm. They are marked in the same way as the front suspension springs.
2. Check for spring deformation. If the elasticity does not correspond to the data in the figure or deformations may cause the spring to malfunction, replace it.
3. Check the condition of the rubber spring support pads; if necessary, replace them with new ones.
Barbells
1. Check if the rods are deformed; if possible, straighten them.
2. Are there any cracks on the rear axle beam and body brackets?; if cracks are found, repair the brackets.
3. Condition of the elastic bushings of the rod hinges; if necessary, replace them with new ones using the tool kit 67.7820.9517.
