We remove the front brake caliper to replace it, the working cylinder or the brake disc.
The work is shown using the example of the brake mechanism of the right wheel.
To complete the work you will need an assistant and a special key by 10 mm for brake pipes, transparent vinyl tube of suitable diameter, container for draining brake fluid, fresh brake fluid (see "Operating fluids").
Removal
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the front wheel (see "Wheel - replacement").
3. Remove the brake pads of the front wheel (see "Front Brake Pads - Replacement").
4. Disconnect the front wheel brake hose from the caliper (see "Front Brake Hose - Replacement").
5. Using a chisel, bend back the locking plate of the lower caliper mounting bolt (the lower mounting bolt differs from the upper mounting bolt by the presence of a spherical part).
6. With a socket wrench at 17 mm using an extension, unscrew the lower caliper mounting bolt.
7. Remove the bolt together with the locking plate.
8. Similarly, unscrew the upper mounting bolt and remove the caliper assembly with the working cylinders.

The slave cylinder must be replaced if the piston is jammed or if brake fluid is leaking through the sealing ring.
9. Secure the caliper in a vice.
10. Key by 10 mm we unscrew the two fittings that secure the connecting tube of the working cylinders.
11. Pick up the phone.
12. Using a punch, press on the spring-loaded retainer, simultaneously knocking the cylinder out of the caliper along the guides.
Installation
1. Install the cylinder and caliper in the reverse order.
Attention! The brake cylinders of the front wheel brake mechanisms are not interchangeable. Do not mix them up when installing.
2. Before installing a new cylinder, press the retainer and install the cylinder into the guide grooves of the caliper.
Caution! If it is difficult to install a new cylinder into the caliper, use a file to blunt the leading edge of the cylinder installation guide.
3. Press the cylinder until the lock is activated.
4. Replace the copper sealing washers with new ones (see "Front Brake Hose - Replacement").
5. After installing the caliper and connecting the brake hose, bleed the hydraulic drive from the side of the replaced cylinder (see "Hydraulic brake drive - bleeding and replacing brake fluid").
Attention! Replace brake discs in pairs on both sides of the car. Check the condition of the discs periodically (see "Brake system - checking technical condition") and replace them without allowing wear to a thickness of less than 9.5 mm, with increased lateral runout or in the case of deep scratches on the working surface.
Removal
1. Remove the caliper (see above) without disconnecting the brake hose.
You can remove the caliper without removing the pads. To do this, press the pistons into the cylinders one by one using sliding pliers through the pads.
2. After unscrewing the caliper mounting bolts, remove it from the brake disc.
3. To prevent the caliper from hanging on the brake hose, tie it to the upper suspension arm, securing it with wire or rope.
4. With a deep-head socket wrench on 7 mm (12 mm on early production cars) unscrew the two guide pins.
5. Remove the spacer ring.
6. Remove the brake disc.
Installation
1. Install the removed parts in reverse order.
2. Similarly, we disassemble the brake mechanism from the opposite side.
