Since 1989, a scheme for checking the health of the parking brake warning lamp has been introduced. When the starter is turned on, voltage is applied to it through the diode and it lights up. After the starter is turned off, the lamp goes out. The scheme for switching on the control lamps for the battery charge, outdoor lighting, high beam headlights and direction indicators is given in subsection 12.15, V subsection 12.11, V subsection 12.10 and subsection 12.9.
Coolant temperature gauge
1. When the arrow of the temperature gauge is constantly at the beginning of the scale, then with the ignition on, disconnect the wire from the gauge sensor and connect the wire tip to ground.
2. If the arrow deviates, then the sensor is faulty and must be replaced, and if it does not deviate, then remove the instrument panel and, with the ignition on, connect the output of the instrument cluster to ground, to which the green wire with a white strip is connected.
3. The deviation of the arrow in this case will indicate the serviceability of the device and damage to the wires connecting the sensor to the instrument cluster. If the arrow does not deviate, replace the instrument cluster.
4. When the arrow of the temperature gauge is constantly in the red zone, then with the ignition on, disconnect the wire from the sensor.
5. In the event of a sensor malfunction, the pointer should return to the beginning of the scale. If it remains in the red zone, then either the wire is shorted to ground, or the device is damaged. The serviceability of the device can be checked by disconnecting the wiring block from the instrument cluster and connecting the orange wire of the instrument cluster to «a plus», and the white-black wire with "minus" battery. For a serviceable device, the arrow should be at the beginning of the scale.
Fuel gauge
1. The verification procedure is similar to that described above.
2. In this case, it must be borne in mind that the plug "W" the pointer sensor is connected to the wire that goes to the fuel reserve control lamp, and to the plug "T" - a wire going to the pointer itself.
3. If the pointer needle is constantly at the beginning of the scale and does not deviate after closing with "weight" wire end disconnected from the plug "T" sensor, it is necessary to check the device. To do this, remove the instrument panel and, with the ignition on, connect to "weight" a plug that accepts a pink wire with a red stripe.
4. With a working device, the arrow should deviate.
