Checking the technical condition without disassembling (VAZ-21051)

After cleaning and washing the shafts, check the cardan joints for ease and smoothness of fork rotation and for the absence of significant axial and radial clearances.

Check the balance of the driveshaft on a balancing stand as specified subsection 5.3.7.

If the forks rotate smoothly, there are no jams or noticeable gaps in the crosspiece bearings, the imbalance of the cardan transmission does not exceed 2.15 N·mm (220 gf mm), and the circumferential clearance in the splined connection is no more than 0.30 mm (by average diameter of spline), then disassembling the cardan transmission is not recommended.
