Checking eccentricity
1. Install the front shaft in the centers and, by turning it, check the runout, which should not exceed: on the pipe, at a distance of 70 mm from the end welds - 0.55 mm, in the center of the pipe - 0.35 mm, along the outer diameters of the splines - 0.1 mm.
2. Install the rear shaft in the centers. Turning the shaft, check its runout, which should not exceed: on the pipe, at a distance of 70 mm from the end welds - 0.55 mm, in the center of the pipe - 0.35 mm.
3. If the runout exceeds the permissible limits, straighten the shafts under a press.
4. If there is a large runout, it is recommended to replace the shafts.
Splined connection
1. Check the circumferential clearance in the splined joint of the front propeller shaft sliding fork. The maximum permissible circumferential clearance for the average diameter of the splines is 0.30 mm.
2. Check the condition of the sliding clutch housing and seal.
3. If necessary, replace the seal, and if damaged, replace the collar.
Cardan joints
1. Check the condition of the bearing housings, needles, crosspiece pins, seals, collars and forks.
2. If the bearing housings, crosspiece needles and pins, as well as the seals or their housings are damaged or worn, replace the crosspieces together with the bearings.
3. If the studs and crosspiece bearings are in good condition, check the condition of the seals and their housings.
4. If the seals have significant annular wear or leak grease, which can be detected when checking the technical condition of the cardan transmission without disassembling, replace the seals with new ones.
5. The diameter of the fork hole for the needle bearing must not exceed 23.825 mm.
Flexible coupling
1. Check the condition of the rubber elements of the elastic coupling.
2. If there are cracks or separation of the rubber from the metal liners, replace the elastic coupling.
Flexible coupling flange
1. Check the condition of the centering sleeve of the flexible coupling flange.
2. If the bushing is significantly worn or damaged, replace the flange assembly.
Intermediate support
1. Check the condition of the bearing by rotating the inner ring in both directions and simultaneously pressing it against the outer ring. The inner ring of the bearing should rotate smoothly, without jamming.
2. Check the condition of the bearing seals.
3. If the bearing is worn or damaged, replace it with a new one.
4. Check the intermediate support for damage or deformation; replace it with a new one if necessary.
