Eccentricity test
1. Install the front shaft in the centers and, turning, check the runout, which should not exceed: on the pipe, at a distance of 70 mm from the end welds - 0.55 mm, in the center of the pipe - 0.35 mm, on the outer diameters of the slot - 0, 1 mm.
2. Install the rear shaft in the centers. Turning the shaft, check its runout, which should not exceed: on the pipe, at a distance of 70 mm from the end welds - 0.55 mm, in the center of the pipe - 0.35 mm.
3. If the runout exceeds the allowable limits, straighten the shafts under pressure.
4. With a large runout, it is recommended to replace the shafts.
Spline connection
1. Check the circumferential clearance in the front propeller shaft sliding yoke spline. The maximum permissible circumferential clearance along the average diameter of the spline is 0.30 mm.
2. Check the condition of the cage and sliding sleeve seal.
3. If necessary, replace the seal, and if damaged, replace the clip.
Cardan joints
1. Check the condition of the bearing housings, needles, spider spikes, seals, cages and forks.
2. If the bearing housings, needles and spikes of the crosses, as well as oil seals or their holders are damaged or worn, replace the crosses as an assembly with bearings.
3. If the spikes and bearings of the crosses are in good condition, check the condition of the seals and their cages.
4. If the seals have a large annular wear or leak lubrication, which can be detected when checking the technical condition of the cardan transmission without disassembly, replace the seals with new ones.
5. The diameter of the hole for the needle bearing must not exceed 23.825 mm.
Elastic coupling
1. Check the condition of the rubber elements of the flexible coupling.
2. If there are cracks or delamination of rubber from metal liners, replace the flexible coupling.
Flexible coupling flange
1. Check the condition of the centering sleeve of the flexible coupling flange.
2. If the bushing is severely worn or damaged, replace the flange assembly.
Intermediate support
1. Check the condition of the bearing by turning the inner ring in both directions while pressing it against the outer ring. In this case, the inner ring of the bearing should rotate smoothly, without jamming.
2. Check the condition of the bearing seals.
3. If the bearing is worn or damaged, replace it with a new one.
4. Check for damage or deformation of the intermediate support, if necessary, replace it with a new one.
