Checking the technical condition of the cardan shaft without disassembling (VAZ-2101)

After cleaning and washing the shafts, check the cardan joints for ease and smoothness of fork rotation and for the absence of significant axial and radial clearances. Check the balance of the cardan transmission on a balancing stand, as indicated below. If the fork rotation is smooth, there are no jams, the imbalance does not exceed 220 gf mm, the circumferential clearance in the splined connection does not exceed 0.30 mm and grease is not ejected through the crosspiece seal, then disassembling the cardan transmission is not recommended.
