General information about the car body (VAZ-2108)

The car body is a load-bearing structure, 3-door, all-metal, welded. Front doors with drop-down windows and reflectors on the ends. Tailgate (luggage compartment) opens upwards. Windshield 3-layer, polished; tinted glass can be installed. Door and side glass is curved, polished, tempered. All glass is of the safety type. The body is protected by plastic bumpers at the front and back. The front fenders are removable. The front seats are separate with headrests, with adjustable backrest angles; for comfortable seating of the driver and passenger, they can be moved forward and backward. For seating passengers in the back seat, the backrest of the front seats tilts forward. With the headrests removed, the backrest of the front seats can be lowered to form sleeping places. The rear seat can be folded to increase the luggage compartment.

Ventilation, heating, blowing of the windshield and front door windows are carried out by air sucked in from outside. The heating system is included in the engine cooling system. The system of heater flaps and air ducts provides air supply to the windshield, into the passenger compartment and to the feet of the front and rear passengers.
