Removal and installation the instrument panel (VAZ-2108)

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the steering shaft trim cover and the ignition switch trim. Remove the handles from the heater control levers, the handle and scale 14 (see figure 166) headlight corrector. Unscrew the screws and remove the trim 12 of the instrument panel console together with the cigarette lighter, instrument lighting switches, hazard warning lights, fog lights, and rear window heating. Disconnect the electrical wires. Unscrew the four fastening screws and remove the heater and ventilation control lever bracket. Remove the instrument cluster visor 13 by pulling it towards you by the upper part. If it is impossible to remove it, unscrew the fastening screws of the locking springs on the inner upper wall of the visor. Disconnect the electrical wires, cables, and remove the instrument cluster as an assembly. Unscrew the nut and remove the headlight corrector. Unscrew the fastening screws of the carburetor air damper drive handle and the ignition switch fastenings. Remove the ignition switch as an assembly.

Remove five screws securing the instrument panel: four at the corners of the panel (the two upper ones are closed with plugs) and one from the glove compartment. Remove the instrument panel. If necessary, remove the air ducts and the heating and ventilation nozzles from the instrument panel.

The installation of the instrument panel is carried out in the reverse order.
