Remove the expansion tank cap and open the interior heater tap. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the engine splash guard. Unscrew the two drain plugs (in the radiator and cylinder block) and drain the liquid from the cooling system. After draining, tighten the plugs.
Fill the system with clean water. Pour water into the expansion tank until the level is 25-30 mm above the "MIN" mark, and screw in the expansion tank cap. Start the engine, warm it up at medium crankshaft speed to 90°C. At this temperature, the water will circulate in small and large circles, and the radiator will be flushed. Stop the engine, drain the water, fill the system again with clean water and repeat the flushing in the same order.
Stop the engine, drain the water and fill the system with coolant. Start the engine and let it idle for 1-2 minutes to remove air locks. After the engine has cooled down, check the fluid level.
In northern regions, where antifreeze is kept cold for a long time, it ages more slowly. Therefore, after the warranty period has expired, antifreeze must be drained and its quality checked. If there is no dirt or oil in the liquid and it has retained its blue color, its density must be checked, if necessary, brought up to standard and used for another year. After a year of operation, the check is repeated.
