To perform the job of replacing the coolant, you will need:
- wide capacity, with a volume of at least 8 liters;
- viewing hole or flyover.
Coolant replacement sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see item 2b "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the engine protection (see "Engine protection - removal and installation").
3. Unscrew and remove the cover of the expansion tank.
4. We substitute a container with a volume of at least 8 liters under the drain hole of the engine radiator.
5. Turn off the drain plug of the radiator (pictured top view) and drain the coolant into a container.
6. We rearrange the container under the drain hole of the cylinder block, located on the front side of the engine next to the clutch housing. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the coolant drain plug, drain the remaining coolant.
7. We wrap the drain plugs of the coolant in place.
8. Pour new coolant into the expansion tank.
Recommendation. Use a coolant with a freezing point 10-15°C below the average minimum winter temperature in the region where the vehicle will be operated.
9. Fill the coolant to the top mark of the expansion tank. We start the engine on the car and let it run at high speeds until the radiator cooling fan turns on. When the level in the expansion tank drops, add coolant.
Warning. Mixing antifreezes of different brands is usually not allowed.
