Built-in diagnostic system (VAZ-2109)

The VAZ-2108, VAZ-2109 and their modifications have a built-in diagnostics system designed to monitor the technical condition of the car using a motor tester. This system includes sensor 17 (see figure 91) the top dead center of the engine and the 26 diagnostic connector, to which the following check points of the electrical system are connected: the positive terminal of the battery, the terminal 30 of the generator, the ground of the vehicle, the low voltage terminals of the ignition coil and the top dead center sensor.

Using a mounted high-voltage sensor and a motor tester, the built-in diagnostics system allows service stations to determine the reduction in compression in engine cylinders, the charge level and condition of the battery, the serviceability of the generator, starter and ignition system.
