
Note: Replace the protective cover if it is torn or has lost its elasticity.

The parking brake lever is of a non-separable design. Only the pawl spring can be replaced.

1. From underneath the vehicle, loosen the lock nut and equalizer adjusting nut.

2. Remove the equalizer from the lever rod.

3. Then remove the protective cover.

4. Remove the gearshift lever protective boot from the floor tunnel trim.

5. Remove the floor tunnel trim panel.

6. Remove the screw securing the floor tunnel trim at the rear.

7. Remove the floor tunnel trim by sliding it back.

8. Unscrew the four mounting bolts and remove the lever.

9. Remove the retaining ring, take out the axle and disconnect the rod from the lever.

10. Unscrew the button and remove the pawl spring. Do this carefully, as the button is under the force of the compressed spring.
11. Install the lever in the reverse order of removal. Then adjust the parking brake.
