The third line from the top of the plate - the identification number - is deciphered as follows: the first three letters, according to international standards, indicate the code of the manufacturer; the next six digits are the car model; latin letter (or number) - model year; the last seven digits are the chassis number, for a passenger car it corresponds to the body number. In accordance with GOST R 51980-2002, the model year is defined as a conventional year specified by the manufacturer (usually following the actual year of manufacture of the vehicle). At AVTOVAZ OJSC, the start of the model year is set at October 1 of the calendar year. Thus, from January 1 to September 30, the model year corresponds to the actual year of vehicle production, and from October 1 to December 31, it corresponds to the year following the actual year of vehicle production.
Identification number 3 is duplicated on the right support of the telescopic strut and on the panel in the spare wheel niche.
The fourth line from the top of the plate is the engine model.
The numbers in the left column from top to bottom indicate:
- gross vehicle weight;
- permissible weight with a trailer.
The numbers in the right column from top to bottom indicate:
- front axle load;
- load on the rear axle.
The number for spare parts corresponds to the serial number of the vehicle leaving the assembly line.
The bottom line shows the version and configuration.
The model and engine number 1 are stamped on the end of the cylinder block, above the clutch housing.
