Heater with automatic control of the set temperature in the passenger compartment
heater «dozens» consists of a radiator with two shutters, a fan, an air inlet box. All of them are combined into a block. This block is now installed in the engine compartment, which greatly facilitates access to the block parts. The automatic heater control system, which is located in the passenger compartment, monitors the operation of this unit. This system provides the temperature set by the driver. The driver only directs warm air in the right direction.
A special protection is installed between the windshield and the hood, which prevents foreign objects from entering the air intake box from the car glass. The air intake is covered with a grille. A condenser heat exchanger can be installed at the air intake inlet and it is planned to install an automatic climate control system if, at the request of the driver, an air conditioner is installed on the car.
The heating radiator is connected to the expansion tank and is now located so as to prevent the formation of steam locks.
The design of the heater does not provide for the installation of a heater valve, which made it possible to eliminate one of the antifreeze leaks. The amount of heat is now regulated by a damper, which directs the air flow either through the radiator or bypassing it.
When the temperature control is set to the middle position, warmer air is directed to the feet, and cool air is directed to the windshield and upper part of the cabin. If the regulator is set to the maximum temperature position, warm air will flow both to the upper part of the cabin and to the legs.
Warm air to the feet of rear seat passengers enters through the air ducts, they are closed with a decorative grille. The driver must keep this in mind and do not cover the grilles with rugs when warm air is needed.
The interior ventilation system has a valve that allows you to keep warm air in the cabin longer.
The temperature control unit regulates the cabin temperature through its overhead-mounted sensor, which compares the cabin temperature with the temperature set by the driver. If it is necessary to change it, a command is sent to the micromotor reducer, which regulates the flow of warm air either through the radiator or bypassing it, and the desired temperature is maintained in the cabin, regardless of the engine operating modes.
The fan operation mode knob provides in the position «A» - automatic switching on of fans, in position 1 and 2 - forced switching on of fans at different speeds.
A feature of this system is the recirculation mode. Its main purpose is to isolate the interior of the car from the external environment in the presence of an air conditioner. In the absence of air conditioning, when the button is pressed, the car interior is also isolated from the environment, but now the air enters the heater only from the passenger compartment. And this is permissible only temporarily, if necessary, to exclude the ingress of bad air into the cabin. It is not recommended to use it on the move in the winter season and with a full set of passengers. The windows will fog up a lot, and in winter they will freeze.
