Note. Removal of the fuel tank (gas tank) is shown with the 21124 engine (1.6i). The specifics of removing the gas tank on cars with the 2112 engine (1.5i) are specified in the text.
Recommendation: It is recommended to remove the gas tank after the maximum amount of fuel has been used up.
To remove, install, or replace the gas tank, you will need an inspection pit or overpass.
Removal
1. Preparing the vehicle for work (see point 2b "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Release the pressure from the fuel line (see "Fuel line - pressure relief"). We do not connect the wire connector to the fuel module.
3. On a car with a VAZ 2112 engine (l,5i), disconnect the fuel line fittings from the fuel module (see point 5 "Fuel module of the gasoline pump of the engine 2112 (1.5i) - removal, installation, replacement").
On a car with a VAZ 21124 engine (l,6i):
a). Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter (see item 4 (a, b, c) "Fuel filter - replacement").
b). Disconnect the tube from the main fuel line.

4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the clamps securing the two hoses.

5. Disconnect the gravity valve hose from the fuel tank (gas tank)...

6. ...and the filler neck.

7. Through the filler neck pipe using a special hose for pumping fuel (see item 41 "Special tools and devices") we pump out fuel from the gas tank.
8. Using thin pliers, loosen the fastening of the plastic hose that releases air from the gas tank.

9. Remove the plastic hose from the gas tank pipe.
10. Plug the gas tank pipes and hoses with rags.

11. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the bolts of the two fuel tank mounting clamps.

12. Remove the fuel tank (gas tank) from the car.

Installation
We install the fuel tank (gas tank) and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order.
Recommendation: Before starting the engine, turn on the ignition, wait until the fuel pump, having pumped fuel, turns off and bleed air from the fuel rail through the diagnostic fitting.
