Recommendation. One cause of low fuel pressure in the fuel rail could be a dirty strainer.
Removing
1. Remove the fuel module (see "2112 engine fuel pump fuel module (1,5i) - removal, installation, replacement").
2. Using a screwdriver with a thin blade, pry off the fuel pump strainer (see details 3 and 4 "21124 engine fuel pump fuel module (1,6i) - fuel pump replacement").
3. Remove the strainer.
4. We remove dirt deposits from the intake chamber of the fuel module and wash the body in a solvent for nitro-paint.
5. We wash the mesh filter in a solvent for nitro-paint and blow it with compressed air (from compressor or foot pump).
Recommendation. If the mesh filter is very dirty and cannot be cleaned, replace it.
Installation
We install the strainer on the car in the reverse order of removal (see paragraph 8 for details "21124 engine fuel pump fuel module (1,6i) - fuel pump replacement").
