Warning: Before performing repair work, read the precautions for repairing the engine management system (see "Precautions when repairing the engine management system").
To perform repair work on replacing the detonation sensor on a VAZ 2110 car, you will need a multimeter (in voltmeter mode).
Note. Access to the DD sensor is hindered by the intake module. Therefore, you will have to remove it by touch. You can remove the engine protection and perform the work from underneath the car (on an inspection pit or overpass).
Removal
1. Preparing the vehicle for work (see points 1 and 2 "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the knock sensor to the cylinder block.

3. Remove the sensor from under the intake module.
4. Press the lock and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor.

Examination
1. Connect the multimeter to the sensor terminals (in voltmeter mode with a measurement limit of up to 200 mV).

2. With a metal object (with a bolt, screwdriver) lightly tap the sensor, and the voltmeter should show voltage surges. A faulty knock sensor does not respond to impacts. In this case, the knock sensor must be replaced.
Note: The sensor can be tested more accurately only on a special stand.
Installation
We install all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal.
