On engines of models 2112, 21124 and 21114, plastic decorative covers are installed, which must be removed when carrying out some work.
Removal
We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
On engine 2112 (1.5i 16V):
1. With a socket wrench by 10 mm we unscrew the four nuts securing the decorative trim to the cylinder head cover.
2. Unscrew and remove the oil filler cap.
3. Remove the decorative trim.
4. Install the oil filler cap back into place.
On engines 21124 and 21114 (1.6i):
1. The plastic cover is held in place by four rubber sleeves that fit onto the cylinder head cover studs (shown on the example of engine 21124, on engine 21114 the operation is performed similarly except that it is necessary to first remove the oil filler cap).
2. Lift and remove the plastic engine cover together with the rubber couplings.
3. On engine 21114 we install the oil filler cap back in place.
Installation
We install the decorative trim in the reverse order.
